The first passenger diesel trainset fully designed and built in Uzbekistan.
The "New Uzbekistan" diesel trainset (model DEM2) is TVZ's flagship project, completed in 2024. The 12-car formation is designed for operation on non-electrified main lines to the western regions: Tashkent–Urgench and Tashkent–Nukus routes.
The formation includes several classes: two VIP cars with individual compartments, four business class cars, four economy cars and a restaurant car. Total capacity: 736 passengers. Two power cars provide traction without a separate locomotive.
Car bodies are made of high-strength steel. Air conditioning runs autonomously from the power car diesel generators. Vacuum bio-toilets in all cars, on-board Wi-Fi, next-generation passenger information system.
