Uzbekistan's only enterprise for the full cycle of passenger railway car manufacturing, repair and modernisation.
JSC Tashkent Passenger Car Building and Repair Plant (TVZ) was established in 2001 with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Since its founding, the plant has been the only facility in Uzbekistan performing a complete manufacturing cycle for passenger rolling stock.
The production site is located in Tashkent. The plant operates two shop buildings: a main assembly hall of over 40,000 m² and a specialised depot for capital overhaul of 18,000 m². Equipment covers body welding, stamping, painting, interior fitting and final assembly testing — all in-house.
TVZ currently produces four main lines: the 61-950 compartment car, the 61-951 open-berth car, the "New Uzbekistan" diesel trainset (DEM2, 12-car formation), and performs capital-restoration overhaul of Tashkent Metro series 81-717 cars. All products are certified to TR TS 001/2011 for operation on the CIS rail network.
The plant is a strategic supplier to JSC Uzbekiston Temir Yo'llari and exports to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Planned annual output: 70 cars.
